About
Connect | Grow | Thrive
Our brains continue to grow throughout life, and because of this, change is always possible.
Deena combines mindfulness and meditation practices with psychotherapy and the latest findings in neuroscience. With an extensive understanding in Interpersonal Neurobiology, a mutli-disciplinary field founded by Dr. Daniel J. Siegel, Deena helps clients take advantage of neuroplasticity – the brain’s incredible ability to change and grow throughout the lifespan. Through the cultivation of compassionate awareness, we can use attention to make sense of our lives and create new ways of experiencing the world, leading to happiness, well-being, and more rewarding relationships.
Deena works with children and adolescents – from toddlers to mid-twenties – as well as adults, couples, families, and groups. Balancing attention to culture, environment, family, and individuals to achieve a sense of harmony and cohesion, Deena’s areas of experience include: mindful parenting, anxiety and depression, trauma related issues, anger and stress regulation, social skills and anxiety, and self-worth and relational concerns.
Deena is a Los Angeles native who graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Bucknell University and a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (M.M.F.T.) from the University of Southern California (USC) with honors. Currently pursuing certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Deena also continues her work as Program Coordinator at the Mindsight Institute with Caroline Welch and Dr. Daniel J. Siegel and Program Coordinator at the Center for Mindful Living.
